Dugard & Daughters
Objective:
Neil and Rosie Dugard founded Dugard & Daughters just over ten years ago and have built the business into a cornerstone of the Herne Hill neighbourhood in southeast London. A specialist butcher, they commissioned us to help them carefully grow the business to nearby London ‘villages’, whilst being respectful of not competing with their fellow peers who operate existing butcher shops. Looking to grow the scale of their shops to offer more service lines, we were looking for a double fronted space with additional functional capability of loading, storage and staff amenity.
Tactical:
A combination approach of mapping constrains (non-competing locations) and targeted possibilities, old-fashioned agency, walking the streets, knocking on doors, calling, digital searches, ownership searches, agents, London agency platforms finally helped find an opportunity that was about to be marketed; a rapid response, inspection and report, client viewing and bid. Whilst our client won the bidding selection process our work had only just begun as we project managed the transaction to completion, involving mitigating a range complex building and related legal issues through a 9-month process to completion.
Outcome:
Dugard & Daughters achieved their goal, opening an impressive specialist designed double-frontage flagship Butchers and Larder to the discerning public of Putney and warmly welcomed by the local businesses community.
