Hole & Corner Magazine, London Office

Objective:

Hole & Corner is a publication celebrating and promoting creativity, craftsmanship, heritage & authenticity, launched in Dorset in 2013, and now known as Raft; a new creative platform. As long-time collaborators with the team at H & C, we were commissioned in the Spring of 2023 to find Hole & Corner a London office where they could bring their team of creatives together to produce a publication to celebrate the magazines 10th anniversary. No ordinary space this, as the brief also asked for a type of space that could be opened to the public in the summer, connecting them with the craft community through their Makers’ Residency programme, effectively bringing the platform to life in a physical space.

Tactics:

We issued the brief to the central London office and retail market through our network and platforms and found several studios and office spaces that were suitable and on-budget, and after several days walking the streets of Clerkenwell and Farringdon, selected a space in Smithfield, perfect as a setting and backdrop for the brief, and hyper-connected across the city with newly opened Elizabeth Line.

Outcome:

Hole & Corner successfully executed their plans to celebrate their 10th anniversary in a space that functioned as perfect stage set; providing a central space for their creative contributors, who are based across London, Bristol and everywhere in between, in a landmark setting that resonated H & C’s values, the makers and visitors.
